Shimano - AERO Pro Distance Feeder - 12ft
A lot of the performance advantages of Aero Pro come from the technology used. All 4 models are constructed from Spiral X Core and Hi-Power X carbon, which is Shimano's very best carbon combination, plus Nanopitch technology. Add to this a CI4+ reel seat and the latest Fuji K-Type SiC guides and the result is arguably the lightest feeder rods ever produced.
But being the lightest isn't everything, especially with feeder rods. Casting performance is even more crucial. With Aero Pro, the combination of exclusive carbon technology reduces blank twist when under pressure and minimises the natural spine most rods have. The result is a range of rods that cast more accurately, and with more power. The effort you put into the cast is used with maximum efficiency throughout the rod, to generate increased tip speed. And the direction of force stays true to where you aim the cast.
But there's more. As if lightness and remarkable casting wasn't enough, all models come with a choice of one-piece tip sections, with built in Hi-Power X quivertips. The result is a seamless curve. Whilst this helps casting performance, it is fish-playing where this becomes really advantageous. The smooth curve is faultless and pressure on the tip is smoothly transferred to the rest of the rod as it takes on an almost elastic type quality. The result is more confident fish-playing and more fish in the net. Aero Pro - for winners who fish without compromise.
SPIRAL X CORE
Spiral X Core is Shimano's newest and most advanced blank construction technology. By integrating Spiral X carbon tape construction with Toray Nanoalloy® technology, Spiral X Core constructed blanks benefit from up to 10% more torsional rigidity and up to 15% more compressional rigidity than rods built with Spiral X. Shimano is unique to the market by applying by high-strength carbon tape with this unique and patented Spiral X construction.
HI-POWER X
Hi-Power X construction uses diagonally-wrapped carbon tape to form an array of "X" shapes on the rod blank's outermost layer. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. This manufacturing process allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control for the angler.
NANOPITCH
Shimano’s Nanopitch manufacturing method enables fine-pitch and high-precision wrapping of the molding tape during the blank baking process. Nanopitch technology tightens the tape to the extreme and provides uniform pressure, increasing the circularity of the rod and ultimately improving overall rod strength.
TAFTEC ALPHA
SHIMANO’s TAFTEC α is a unique solid tip that realizes flexibility and delicate bending without reducing the diameter of the tip or its strength. The TAFTEC α tip is used throughout the Shimano rod range where sensitivity is an important requirement of the rods.
CI4+
CI4 is a resin material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material. The rigidity and durability have been greatly improved from original CI4 material while maintaining the lightness of the material, making it possible to reduce the size and weight of the reel.
