Carp Fishing Beds & Sleep Systems FAQs
Why do I need a fishing bedchair?
If you are looking to do nights on the bank a good night's sleep is important, to keep you fishing effectively the next day, or if you are doing overnighters, so you function for work. A bedchair offers you comfort so you can fish through the night, and get a good night's sleep, rather than sleeping on the floor or at an awkward angle slumped in a chair.
Can I just use a camping bed instead?
Most camping beds will be on the ground, and as anglers, we probably spend a longer amount of time on the bank, in also less favourable weather. A purpose-made bedchair will keep you off the ground and be much more comfortable.
What are the main differences between the more expensive sleep systems and the cheaper options?
More expensive beds will be much like when you buy a more expensive bed and mattress at home. They will be constructed from stronger, lighter materials, and offer more padding and lumbar support, and on most high-end beds, a built-in sleep system so you don't need to source a separate sleeping bag, meaning the bed will fold up with the system in place more compact.
Are lightweight sleep systems still comfortable to sleep on?
They can, however, pay heed to the season rating on the sleep system, and the framework. The weight is often saved somewhere in the removal of a leg or the weight of the bag.
Can I adjust the legs to cater for uneven terrain?
Most bedchairs will have adjustable legs for uneven terrain.
How easy are sleep systems to set up?
Very. Simply unfold the bed, unzip the side of the bag you wish to get in and out of, and settle down for a good night's sleep.
