Toslon Bait Boat Instructions

Toslon Bait Boat Instructions
  • There appears to be moisture inside the boat? Is it leaking?

During prolonged usage, or periods of changing and / or incremental weather eg. hot days to cold nights, the boat will condensate internally. This level of condensation will vary according to the conditions, dependant on temperature and humidity.

We therefore advise, that after use, the boat, handsets are fish finders are all placed back in the bag, and the boats battery covers are removed and left off to allow the internals of the boat to air out and ensure air flow throughout to reduce the condensation risk.

When storing the equipment for prolonged periods, please disconnect the batteries from the boat and fish finder and remove the handset batteries. Store all items with the battery covers off to allow air flow.

  • My boat is not going back to exact spot as before?

Your GPS accuracy is dependant on a number of outside factors. The level of accuracy will vary from 3ft upwards, depending on the number of satellites you are connected, atmospheric weather conditions, geographic location, and man made structures / conflict of signals. This is no different to your mobile phone or in car sat nav.

For example if its particularly heavy cloud cover, or stormy this can reduce satellite connectivity. If you are fishing under or near to phone masts, power or rail lines, or near air ports, these can influence the GPS compasses, meaning accuracy impaired, or the boat will snake trying to pinpoint a spot.

Ensuring the relevant handset is raised off ground level (TF740 / x pilot) the aerials are pointing out across the water, and the boat has been on for several minutes to connect up, will help with accuracy, but will not override the above factors.

Regularly recalibrating the autopilot, especially when getting to a new venue will also help improve accuracy.

  • I’m losing signal at close range, what’s wrong?

Check the aerials are in the correct positions. If these are in the correct locations, then ensure the corresponding base station / handset is raised up off the ground. If the devices are on ground level this will reduce range.

If range is still reduced, check aerials for damage, (bends, kinks, cracks, or damaged aerial thread).

If problem persists, please contact your Tolson dealer.

  • My x pilot / fish finder is saying not ccu not connected / please power on the sensor?

Please check and ensure the boat was fully powered up before turning on the handset / base station. If so, please power off and re power the handset / base station up.

If this is still not connecting please ensure that the small white plug pictured below is still connected as so. If not, reconnect the plug, and re power the devices up.

If problem persists, please contact your Tolson dealer.

  • My hoppers seem to shudder, is there a problem?

The hoppers will occasionally shudder as the motors gain traction on opening. This is normal. However an occasional dap of wd40 to the underside where the hoppers fit, will reduce the friction.

  • Why is my rear tail light flashing?

This indicates the boats batteries are below 50% and require recharging. The faster the light flashes, the lower the batteries are.

  • Why is my boat power switch flashing? Is it off?

We are sorry to hear this and our Customer Service team are more than happy to aid you in this situation.

Yes, this is completely normal. The water switch was removed on the Gen 2 Toslon, however the software still completes the same shut down. This will pulse for 5 minutes until the boat is completely off.

  • The boat powers up and the motors spin when I plug the first battery in, is this normal?

    Yes this is completely normal.

  • I’ve no charger for the boat?

The charging port on the top of the x boat is obsolete and is no longer connected to the internal electrics. There is not charger for this any longer. Please charge by connecting the splitter lead directly to the batteries. Only the yellow XT60 leads need connecting. The white Molex plugs are not used.

  • My Handset will not connect, how can I re-bind the handset?

To re bind the handset to the boat please follow these steps. You will need your boats bind key. This is a small flat piece of plastic with a toggle around 12mm in length.

    1. Ensure that everything is switched off.
    2. Undo the left battery compartment as the boat faces you, and remove your battery covers.
    3. Inside to the rear you will see the boats receiver unit, which looks like a small black unit, slightly smaller than a match box, with several red / white and black leads running out of one end, and two grey leads the other end. The two grey leads are held into clips on the side wall inside the boat. These are your boats aerials. Undo the clips and carefully slide the aerials out, and then un velcro the receiver unit.
    4. Gently turn around so you can see the face where the red / white / black leads run into. On the end you will see you will see an empty slot.
    5. Carefully insert the bind key in the empty slot. Note this will only fit one way round.
    6. Hold down the bind key on the handset and turn the handset on. This will come up Rx bind. Then with the handset next to the boat, turn the boat on. This will then display bind successful.
    7. Remove the key, and place the receiver unit back onto its velcro pad, and clip your aerials back into place.
    8. Your boat is good to use.

  • Can I buy spare batteries?

Spare batteries are available online from us here, or alternatively you can contact the boat workshop at [email protected].

  • How long will my batteries last for?

Your boat will run for approx. 6 hours on a fully charged set of batteries. The smaller internal batteries for the fish finder will be shorter; 2-3 hours. The X Pilot battery will last roughly one hour
