It is very difficult to choose the best fishing gifts for beginners but it is hard to look past some quality clothing that will keep you warm and dry. The British wether does have a habit of not reading the weather forecast and can change in the blink of any eye, no fishing trip should be cut short due to inadequate clothing so being prepared is essential.
No matter what time of the year, it is important to be warm and dry when fishing. A good quality set of waterproofs are essential items for any angler. They pack down small enough to stash in a rucksack or bag and most garments have excellent wind beating properties as well as being able to keep you dry.
A lot of anglers mis judge the weather and end up cold and fed up. As we know, the majority of the heat we use is through our heads and extremities so a good wooly hat and a thick pair of warm socks are essential items.
