Aqua Ultralite 100 Aquatexx 1.0 Bivvy: A Total Fishing Tackle Review

Aqua Ultralite 100 Aquatexx 1.0 Bivvy Review

Aqua Ultralite 100 Aquatexx 1.0 Bivvy

Aqua is back with a new addition to their range of shelters. We asked resident angling expert and blogger Andy Grenfell to take a closer look….

So, here we are with another take on the Aqua Pioneer classic shelter design that helped make Aqua Products famous.

The Aqua Ultralite 100 Aquatexx EV 1.0 promises to address issues from the previous equivalents, but have they delivered? Well yes, I think they have.

The age-old problem with the Pioneer and the Pioneer Ultralite was that, despite its name, weight was a major issue. Don’t get me wrong, once it was up, it was rock solid and going nowhere, but it did weigh the same as a small car.

The other issue was the poles. I never had a problem with mine, but if you didn’t fan the shelter out properly when erecting it, you may end up breaking a pole or two. Now, this was in the main down to user error, let me make that abundantly clear, but if I were in charge of making bivvies, I’d give my design team the brief that included assuming that all carp anglers are heavy handed idiots, because let’s face it, we are.

Thank the carp gods that BOTH these issues appear to have been addressed and fixed!

I’ll let Aqua take over this bit……

The modern-day, discerning carp angler has long sought after a sustainable shelter of which they can call a home away from home. With this in mind, the traditional model has undergone a thorough re-vamp after time away from the spotlight.

We have supplemented the original model with additional features to deliver on these requirements, allowing for optimum comfort and greater functionality. For example, the new design of the GRP composite block has a reduced weight whilst maintaining the same mechanical vigour of its predecessor. This, coupled with the existing resistance against chemicals and temperature stability, proves ideal for the roving carp enthusiast.

With material at the forefront of our redesign, incorporating the new Aquatexx EV™ material bolsters a 25,000mm hydrostatic head, cementing its place as a market leader and an unassailable asset for any dedicated carp angler’s arsenal. Further to such innovative components, the breathable fabric itself shouldn’t be taken lightly, contrary to the lightweight manipulation of the shelter as a whole.

Fishing for me has long been more than a hobby, but more of an obsession. Since as far back as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by water, and all that which lives below the surface, and subsequently, as soon as I was old enough to hold a fishing rod, my angling journey started.
