This particular bait or, more so, the concept, is something we worked on for 4 or 5 years. Unfortunately, the lack of viable ingredients hampered progress until the summer of 2013, when we eventually started to piece parts of the puzzle together.

What we were looking for when we set about creating this bait was something that would compete nutritionally with the best fishmeals on the market, so no ‘that will do’ attitude was acceptable. The first problem we came up with was we were doing it without using fishmeals! You don’t have to look far nowadays to see a campaign based around protecting our marine fish stocks and making sure food ingredients are sustainable, and this is something that has been at the forefront of our minds for quite some time now.

The Switch Wafters:

The same amino-liquid-based combinations used in the production of our freezer baits. Based around marine-extract proteins, liquid-meat extracts, vegetable extracts, spices and, where applicable, the same subtle flavours used in the relevant baits. Superb as bait soaks or additions to stick mixes and groundbaits. A useful tip is to cover some mid-protein carp pellets in this liquid and leave overnight to soak, giving you a perfectly matched pellet to your chosen freezer bait.

The Switch Pop Ups:

We believe our pop-ups are some of the best around. We spent a long time experimenting to come up with a pop-up that emits the exact same food signals and looks similar to the free offerings you are using. Utilising cork granules/pop-up mix and a unique powder blend which includes all the goodies from the relevant base mix, we’ve created what we feel are the ultimate food-bait pop-ups. Why use a pop-up that is giving off different food signals to the bait you are using? They aren’t quite as buoyant as a true airball pop-up due to the amount of soluble goodies we’ve crammed into them, but you should expect a 15mm bait to stay up all night on a standard rig. If you require a longer time than this, we would suggest either corking them out or alternatively using the 18mm versions, which will stay buoyant for days. The baits are available in 12mm, 15mm and 18mm.
