There is no set style, the key thing to consider is how much protection it offers you from the sun. This could be a cap or bucket hat style.

The best hats for winter will be the one that offers you the best thermal protection from the cold when temperatures plummet. However, on other days a cap may be ample enough if it's bright to protect you from the sun or if it's raining.

Some caps are waxed, to offer protection from the rain, but most will not be waterproof or shower resistant.

Many of the hats will not be windproof, but will still offer an element of protection from the wind.

Camouflage works by breaking up your shape in front of the background you are stood against in turn making you harder to spot. However, any form of dark drab clothing, and keeping your silhouette from the skyline will work much better from a fishing perspective.
