Well that’s Black Friday over for another year! Did you manage to get a few bargains or save a few quid? I think in years gone by, BF had a bit of a bad reputation as a way of getting rid of old stock at a cheap price, but a 15% blanket discount on everything is a much better reward for our customers and I hope you all took full advantage. Judging by the number of lorries leaving Total Fishing HQ every day, it certainly looks like you did!
One of our most popular brands recently has been Sonik and especially the Xtractor range of rods and nets. So, let’s take a closer look and see why so many anglers are using the Xtractor gear…..
I think to call the Sonik Xtractor range a ‘budget range’ would be unfair, the problem is that carp fishing tackle is so good these days that even the lower end products are superb and the Xtractor range is no different.

Sonik Xtractor Rods
There is no getting away from it, the Xtractor range is modelled around the famous Scope concept and although there are many companies now offering retractable rods and accessories, the clever people at Sonik have taken it a step further offering rods from 6ft to 12ft that can all be packed down considerably smaller. All the usual test curves are there, as well as the usual cosmetic tweaks such as cork handles or duplon depending on what takes your fancy.
Super light M Series guides and DPS reel seats complete the look and I must say, they are really rather good! Even the 12ft version packs down to just 50 inches, perfect for those who like to travel light or for whom space is a premium. Check them out they really are superb and with prices starting from just £49.99, these rods may have a budget price tag, but they pack a top end punch!

Sonik Extractor 5000 Reels
If you thought the rods were good value, then check these bad boys out! Less than £40 for a premium carp fishing reel that looks as though it should cost twice as much. Now you won’t be casting 200 yards with these, but for small and medium sized venues, you cannot go wrong. A silky smooth clutch, understated cosmetics and a classy wooden handle complete the look and performance, not forgetting the quick fold handles as well. These reels are the perfect partner for the Xtractor Rods.
Sonik Xtractor Landing Net
The Xtractor landing net is built to perform; featuring a stiff telescopic 2-piece handle with fittings that are glued and pinned for ultimate reliability. The tough glass filled Nylon spreader block has a shaped cross brace for mesh retention, allowing quick net manoeuvre and smooth mesh release. Reinforced olive green 42” mesh with free flowing hex mesh on the sides and a super soft base mesh. A generous depth of 95cm strikes a perfect balance for temporarily holding fish and moving quickly through the water.
