The Best Fishing Waders: A Total Fishing Tackle Review

Is it me or is every other catch shot now featuring an angler in the water wearing fishing waders? That's not a bad thing of course, it is much safer to photograph a fish in the water than on the bank, but the popularity of waders has certainly increased in recent years. So, let's take a look at some of the best waders money can buy, not necessarily the most expensive either!
WADER WEARING
Personally, I never leave home without my waders when I am off carp fishing. I use them for so many different reasons, the first being that my syndicate lake is very shallow for the first 20 yards and casting from the bank is near on impossible due to the amount of foliage. They are also handy to have as we have just mentioned, for catch shots and returning fish. On my lake I cannot land a fish safely without wading out at least to thigh depth, the same applies to returning fish as well.
Lastly, I use them for placing rigs and rescuing snagged fish (if required). I love being able to find a spot in three feet of water, tucked out the way where you cannot cast and then creep down the bank in my waders and deliver my rig and bait undetected, lovely stuff!
So, let's get into the best waders list and see who comes out on top!
PRODUCT INFORMATION
We asked around the office here at TFT and there was a clear winner, the Vass 400E Lightweight Waders!
'As part of Vass’s constant development, Vass is pleased to introduce the new Vass-Tex 400 ‘lightweight’ chest wader which supersedes the popular Vass-Tex 350 wader. What’s changed? Vass has increased the waterproof coating to further enhance reliability without sacrificing flexibility and continue to maintain the lightweight feel of the wader.
The Vass-Tex 400 wader benefits from the usual high quality of workmanship and raw materials. The wader upper material is over 40% lighter than its heavy-duty brother (‘Vass-Tex 700’ wader). This was developed for anglers who require lighter, more flexible, and compact chest waders. Although not as hard-wearing as its heavy-duty brother (Vass-Tex 700E), it retains reliability unrivalled by other lightweight chest waders in its class!

Fishing for me has long been more than a hobby, but more of an obsession. Since as far back as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by water, and all that which lives below the surface, and subsequently, as soon as I was old enough to hold a fishing rod, my angling journey started.
