Fish care should be at the top of everyone's list when it comes to buying good-quality products. It is every carp angler's responsibility to ensure that each fish we catch, is returned to the water in the same condition (or better) as when it was caught. Carp Cradles have really boomed in popularity recently, with many fisheries now insisting on a cradle style of unhooking mat. Every cradle we sell here at TFT meets our high standards when it comes to carp care, these are some of the best.
CRADLE OR UNHOOKING MAT?
Firstly it is important to note that the good old padded unhooking mat is perfectly adequate for most carp angling situations, but there are times when a cradle will not only protect the fish better but also help you out as the angler. If you regularly fish on your own, at a lovely quiet lake away from the crowds, then you should really be using a cradle. It will really help you out as a lone angler, you can place the fish in the cradle and go about the process of carp care without worrying about the fish flipping or sliding off the unhooking mat. Secondly, if you like a nice water return shot, a cradle will make this process a lot simpler, some lakes even insist that all fish are photographed in the water, so a cradle will really help.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
It was very difficult to pick a winner from the three selected, the Cotswold Les Gravier Cradle is fantastic, and the JRS is very similar but we have decided to go for the Avid Carp Folda Cradle, the value for money is just too good to leave out!

Fishing for me has long been more than a hobby, but more of an obsession. Since as far back as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by water, and all that which lives below the surface, and subsequently, as soon as I was old enough to hold a fishing rod, my angling journey started.
