The Best Line for Predator & Pike Fishing

Without the right line, it won't matter how effective your form is or how expensive your rod was — you won't be reeling in anything! At Total Fishing Tackle, we procure only the best lines available, made from sturdy material built to last while retaining the flexibility necessary for angling.

No matter your fishing style, we have the line for you. Our bestsellers arrive from Fox Rage, with the Jig Silk Braided Mainline and the Torque Yellow Braid. Both are long lines, at 120M and 150M, respectively, designed explicitly with built-in performance optimisation. The bright yellow colouring is unique to the Fox Rage style and provides fantastic visibility even in low light.

Whatever line you prefer, whether it's weighted or light, we have something for you here!

Predator Fishing Line & Traces FAQs

Are certain lines and traces better for certain fishing environments?

Your trace and line should be chosen based on the conditions and style of fishing you are choosing. In heavy snaggy conditions, stronger kit should be chosen.

Does the species of fish determine which lines and traces I should use?

Yes, for perch for example you can use a fluorocarbon leader for lure fishing, but if pike/zander are present a wire trace should be used to prevent bite-offs.

Which lines and traces are the least visible for use in clear water?

Fluorocarbon will be least visible but this is not an option on trace when pike or zander fishing.

Which lines and traces should I choose for trolling?

This would be the same as when lure fishing from the bank in most instances. (Sea fishing this will not be the case).

Which lines and traces should I choose for casting?

This will be the same as when fishing for other species, mono being best, or braid. However, for lure fishing braid is the best option.

Do I need to consider the depth of the water when choosing lines and traces?

No not generally.
