The new Scope Black OPS GR range represents the highest specification rods ever developed within the Scope family.

Built without compromise, Black OPS GR combines the latest blank technology with the finest components available to create the ultimate expression of the Scope concept. Our goal was very straight forward: take everything that has made Scope rods so successful and refine every single element using the very best materials, engineering and design available.

At the heart of every Black OPS GR rod is a new blank construction utilising advanced 40T Japanese Toray carbon reinforced with Graphene. The addition of Graphene is fairly unique to carp fishing rods, more commonly found in high end competition fishing poles to make them lighter, stronger and more sensitive. This next-generation material combination allows the blank to also be lighter, slimmer and stronger than previous Scope designs, whilst delivering a noticeably faster recovery speed, reducing fatigue from repeated flexing and a more responsive feel throughout the rod.

The action has been further refined to produce a crisper, more precise blank that performs effortlessly across the wide range of situations for which Scope rods are renowned and certainly has produced our best performing casting Scope.

For a shorter rod, its casting capabilities are nothing to be snubbed at, with distances of up to 200yards achieved by our in house casting tester, Jermaine Hull (10ft 3.75lb Model). This shows the capability and durability of the new blanks, materials and construction of the rods.

Along with all of this, every component has been selected to match the capabilities of the blank. The brand new ALPS CWG-AI reel seat features a carbon insert, integrated rubber cushioning and twin machined compression washers, providing exceptional reel security and upmost comfort in your hand. New SeaGuide TCDG guides feature advanced Adaman coating technology to irradicate grooves in the eyes from heavy use and a high stand-off profile for optimum line management when casting, whilst the PE knitted handle grip offers outstanding durability, comfort and ease of maintenance.

The finer details reflect the same no-compromise approach. Understated matte black whippings, embossed Black OPS branding, matte black alignment markers, a 1K carbon line clip and a machined metal butt cap which is also customisable with the included butt lock cap replacement to use in conjunction with Scope Butt Lock Pegs.

All of these contribute to a rod that feels every bit as special as its specification suggests.
