There is a range of suits available, from purely waterproof, thermal, or floatation. Fishing suits are generally made up of a jacket, and then trousers and then bib and brace salopettes or trousers to make up the suit. Some manufacturers as a result sell these separately and not as a suit.
Does the type of fishing being undertaken determine which suit to choose?
It will mainly depend on the season, or if you are using it for sea use, from a boat where a floatation suit is advised. Primarily it will be colour/aesthetics.
Are certain suits better for summer/winter seasons?
Most suits are for the cooler months and will vary in their thermal properties.
Are fishing suits fully waterproof?
No, many will be around a 5,000-10,000 hydrostatic head, whereas more expensive suits will be both waterproof and thermal.
Do any of the suits come with a warranty?
This will vary depending on the brand manufacturer, but most will have a standard 12 months.
What are the main differences between the cheaper suits and the more expensive options?
More expensive suits will be constructed from better materials, to make them lighter, and more comfortable to move in, for example, breathability, high hydrostatic heads, thermal qualities etc.
