Korda Compac Luggage: A Total Fishing Tackle Review

Korda Compac Luggage: A Total Fishing Tackle Review

KORDA COMPAC LUGGAGE

It’s been a while since Korda first released their Compac range of luggage and with a new drop of Compac luggage recently announced, we asked our resident blogger to take a look.....

The Korda machine continues to gather momentum and despite the shock announcement that Ali Hamidi has left Korda to set up his own angling brand, Korda seemingly go from strength to strength. The Initial Compac range of luggage has certainly been well received, despite early concerns that Korda were gambling in an area of the angling market that is already extremely saturated.

I must say though, I have not heard one (constructive) bad word about the Compac luggage range so I have high hopes for the latest arrivals, let’s take a look at a few of them now.

Korda Compac Carryall Cube

The Compac Cube carries an internal load space of just 12inches x 12 inches, instantly appealing to the short stay angler or those that like to travel light. The pockets appear cleverly designed to house further Korda products, including PVA systems and even the Compac tablet holder. There is even a charging cable port IN EVERY POCKET to enable you to stay connected on the bank, although surely this means the bag can no longer be watertight. Something to look out for.

Fibreglass internal support bars claim to turn the cube into a bivvy table, although I am dubious about using a bivvy table on top of a bag that you’ll probably want to get in to more than once during your session.

The bag promises to be quite useful and I in no doubt that it will be but at £79.99 for a small bag, I would rather invest in the Thinking Anglers equivalent which is almost half the price.

If nothing else this will at least show the impartiality of my reviews!

Korda Compac Cookware Bag

Now, whilst I may not be a fan of the Cube Carryall, the Cookware bag is a whole different story. I have always struggled to find THE perfect bag for my cooking gear, but the Compac Cookware bag may well be the one.

Similar in size to the Cube Carryall, the Cookware Bag offers all the features I am looking for.

The main compartment has all the room for the larger items, pans, kettle etc.

Whilst the pockets provide the space for the stove, gas, cutlery, tea and coffee, condiments and other bits and pieces. For a small bag, you can get a lot in it!

A reinforced base wipe clean and a removable shoulder stap complete the get up.

Priced at £49.99 which I think is a lot more reasonable.

Korda Compac Bankstick Bag

Whilst a bankstick bag may not be on the shopping list of every angler, those who prefer to fish single sticks may well find this to be a bit of a god send. I am a single stick angler, when terrain allows, and I am always struggling to find somewhere to put 6 banksticks (3 with expensive alarms on) as well as my distance sticks and a further bankstick I use to clamp my retainer cord to.

The Compac Bankstick bag may well be the answer. Don’t expect any ground breaking features, let’s be honest it is really just a bag designed to carry metal sticks after all, but it is very well made with reinforcements in all the correct areas, solid zips and waterproof.

You can comfortably fit a 3-rod single stick set up, plus distance sticks and a couple of spares. With Delkim alarms attached, my 15-inch sticks fit inside comfortably.
