Korda Tackle Box: A Total Fishing Tackle Review

Korda Tackle Box: A Total Fishing Tackle Review It's been over a year now since Korda released their version of the tackle box, we asked our resident fishing expert Wayne Box to give us a 12 month 'used and abused' review! Like many of you, I was a little sceptical of a 'revolutionary' tackle box. Let's face it, a tackle box serves just one very simple purpose surely? Well it appears it has more value than meets the eye. 10 years ago I was carp fishing with my kit stripped right back to the bare bones, I fished off the barrow and would only put the brolly up for the night once I was 100% certain I was on the fish. Recently I have been focussing on a few day ticket lakes and the old habits of taking way too much stuff with me with a fully stocked seatbox have well and truly kicked back in. I was looking for an excuse to thin it all down again and the Korda Tackle Box gave me exactly what I needed. I had my end tackle or terminal tackle if you will, divided into two large bits bags and it was taking up way too much room, but not only that I was using less than 20% of the contents on most sessions. I am not afraid to admit I have been one of Korda's harshest but fair critics over the years and when the tackle box was announced I expected a fair bit of backlash on online. I watched with a smug look as the anglers of social media did not disappoint! It all changed when one of my mates sent me a pic of his Korda Tackle Box full to the brim of tackle and after scanning across the photo I noticed that there was everything you could possibly need, all fitted neatly into the tackle box. I hopped online and ordered one there and then. Some 12 months on and I am as happy with the Korda Tackle Box now, as I was when it first turned up. My gear gets a fair bit of abuse and the tackle box has been sent flying more than once when I have received a take just as I was getting into a bit of rig tying! Every time it happens I flinch with emotion as the contents of my tackle box disperse into the mud and the tackle box sits empty in a puddle. It matters not however, as every time the tackle box has come through its ordeal completely unscathed. If you haven't seen one then go and take a look as they have really helped me to discard all the crud I was never going to use, but insisted on taking 'just in case'. The compartments are designed to slide Korda hook boxes and hooklink spools neatly into but other brands do fit I can assure you! There is space for a selection of small tools, needles, scissors etc. Plus you will be able to house all your little metal bits in the lid which is designed to house all your swivels, beads, lead clips, etc.   There is a serious amount of thought that has gone into the Korda Tackle Box from the likes of Tom Dove and Darrell Peck, so rest assured it has some of the best carpy brains in the UK behind it. If like me, you are able to admit that you take too much gear with you, then firstly well done for opening up and admitting it. Secondly take a look at the Korda Tackle Box, it really is rather good.
