Andy Gilbert | Matt Beckett |
Andy Gilbert and Matt Beckett formed the concept of Total Fishing Tackle in 2004. After years of using the same old high street shops for their tackle and bait needs they realised that the fishing retail industry had been slow to change with the increase in the sports popularity and were often failing to meet the demands of the modern day angler. They and others they had met agreed that the whole shopping experience had become more of what seemed like a chore than a pleasurable experience, the problems with high Street parking and restricted opening never help either.
So Total Fishing Tackle was born, instead of expecting the customer to come to them they decided to take the shop to the fisherman! They joined forces with one of the biggest and most popular fisheries in the South East, Birds Green Fishery. As the shop is based on site and also serves as the fishery office it means that the shop is open 7 days a week. Instead of parking tickets there is ample customer parking and once you have finished shopping or browsing why not either take a stroll round one of the 4 lakes or even get a line wet!
